Door knob code 101: The Essentials

Door knobs are one of our homes’ most essential pieces of hardware. They provide us with a way to enter and exit rooms and can be used to add privacy to a space. But have you ever wondered how door knob codes work? In this article, we’ll explore the basics of door knob codes and how they can be used to improve your home’s security.

A Door Knob Code is usually four or five digits long and often combines numbers and letters. For example, the most common door knob code is 5-10-15: “5 turns to the left, ten turns to the right, 15 turns to the left.” This code is easy to remember and can be used on most standard door knobs.

To use a door knob code, first, locate the knob’s keyhole. Then, insert the key into the hole and turn it to the left until you hear a click. This indicates that the first number in the code has been entered. Next, turn the key to the right until you hear another click. This indicates that the second number in the code has been entered. Finally, turn the key to the left again until you hear the third click. This completes the door knob code and allows you to enter the room.
